LITIGATION AND ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION
BD&C is reputable in legal practice and advocacy. We, as a team are forever removing the
complexities associated with lawsuits relating to debt recovery, enforcement of contracts,
land disputes and just resolution of contentious issues from the lowest to the highest
courts of the land. It is on record that we have been victorious in about 90% of our
litigation matters in the trial courts and the few that have gone on appeal. The firm also
successfully represented a client (one of the largest manufacturing concerns in
Nigeria/Africa with a turnover in excess of $4.1B yearly) in a suit filed by its staff for
unlawful retirement/redundancy at the Industrial court. The Firm has also successfully
handled disputes resolution between Akwa Ibom Internal Revenue Service (AKIRS) and an
indigenous service provider over the non-remittance of PAYE and non-payment of Development
							Levy in 2016 and 2021.
						Telecommunication and Intellectual Property Group
BD&C advised one of the multinational Telecommunications operators on the Airtime Credit
Loan Scheme which some other persons claimed to be the Direct Emergency Credit Transfer- (DECT)
wherein we are currently defending the Client in the Court of Appeal in a suit of N100, 000,
000, 000. 00k (One Hundred Billion Naira) that was instituted against them over this service as
the Plaintiffs' suit was dismissed by the Federal High Court.

BD&C drafted an agreement known as Channel Distribution Agreement for one of our clients.
This agreement enables our client to create outlets outside Lagos with partners in other states
of the Federation for the purpose of distribution and sale of their various products. This
agreement has enhanced the total sales and turnover in the output of our client as several
outlets were created with positive results.

BD&C worked as part of the team that advised a client on the modality of porting of numbers
from one network to the others in order to avoid the crises that may ensue after porting. This
was done in conjunction with the guidelines laid down by the Nigerian Communications Commission
(NCC) through their agents, the Number Portability Clearing House and the Independent
						Administrator Clearing House Nigeria Limited.

BD&C has equally represented our clients in negotiating for land to erect their numerous
masts in different parts of the country for efficient productivity and connectivity.
The Firm has registered a few trademarks for both local and international clients at the
Trademark Registry, Abuja and has also been involved in the enforcement and protection of
						intellectual property.
