This is of considerable added value to our clients both in Nigeria and overseas.
Some of our clients include the foremost regulator of the banking and financial sector as well as other regulators and government parastatals saddled with sanctifying and safeguarding the financial sector and deposits/monies therein. We also provide services to majority of the first generation Banks in the country as well as some of the new generation banks; all of which have a market valuations in excess of N100,000,000,000.00 (One Hundred Billion Naira).
We have handled receiverships for some of them, perfection of securities, tripartite mortgage agreements, loan syndication, debt recovery, asset management partnership. We were briefed by a government regulator to wind up some of the failed banks which could not recapitalize up to the N25,000,000,000.00 (Twenty Five Billion Naira) threshold as required by the CBN in 2005. We were also the sole legal adviser/ consultant to the biggest cement manufacturing company in Nigeria between 1995-1997. At present, we are handling a three billion naira (N3,000,000,000.00) arbitration dispute for one of the above mentioned clients.
We were part of the legal team that handled the sale of an Insurance Company owned by a bank upon the acquisition of the former bank by a new Bank. We were lead local counsel on the issue of Eurobond by one of our client before it was cancelled in 2014.
